BRCE: Reengineering Protection for the Next Generation of Athletes

Born from injury. Built for impact. That’s the story behind  BRCĒ, a material-tech and protective gear startup launched by two college athletes determined to make a difference. What began as a response to personal setbacks has grown into a purpose-driven company that’s bringing innovation, accessibility, and safety to sports.

From Sideline to Starting Line

Tanvi Gadamsetti, co-founder of BRCĒ, knows firsthand the frustration of preventable sports injuries. While competing as student-athletes, she and her co-founder bonded over shared experiences—injuries they believed better gear could have helped avoid.

“We saw a gap,” Gadamsetti recalls. “There wasn’t enough affordable, modernized gear that truly protected athletes—especially younger ones. So we decided to build it ourselves.”

With backgrounds in athletics and engineering, the team got to work creating gear that wasn’t just functional—it was backed by science.

“The EDC gave us instant credibility. It consolidated everything we needed into one application, and the process was simple and step-by-step. For someone just starting out, that made a huge difference.”

Innovation You Can Tie Your Shoes With

BRCĒ’s tagline and trademark name says it all: The WORLD’s FIRST athletic shoelaces THAT NEVER COME UNTIED. But under the surface was a breakthrough. The laces were made from a patented polymer composite, a lightweight material with interlocking ridges acting like Velcro—but far more durable and practical.

From there, BRCĒ expanded into sport-specific protective gear, each piece supported by data, testing, and user feedback.

“We’re designing for athletes, but we’re also thinking about the people who care for them,” says Gadamsetti. “Parents might care more than the kids about equipment—and that’s who we want to serve, too.”

Certification That Opens Doors

As a young founder stepping into boardrooms and meetings with seasoned professionals, Gadamsetti knew perception could be a barrier. So when SupplierGateway reached out to introduce BRCĒ to the Enhanced Digital Certification (EDC), she saw an opportunity.

“The EDC gave us instant credibility. It consolidated everything we needed into one application, and the process was simple and step-by-step. For someone just starting out, that made a huge difference.”

SupplierGateway’s EDC helped BRCĒ bridge the gap between startup and supplier—especially with larger manufacturers and partners who needed proof that the company was ready to deliver.

Lessons in Grit and Growth

BRCĒ’s rise hasn’t been without its hurdles. Gadamsetti speaks candidly about self-doubt, imposter syndrome, and the vulnerability that comes with launching new products into the world.

“You have to be okay with criticism—not everyone is going to love what you create. But you have to believe in your mission. The people it’s meant for will find you—or you’ll find them.”

Her advice to other entrepreneurs?

“Embrace failure. If you’re not failing, you’re not evolving. Keep going. Be persistent. And don’t be afraid if people underestimate you—that can be to your advantage.”

Built for What’s Next

With a bold vision and a growing product line, BRCĒ is redefining what it means to protect athletes—not just through equipment, but through confidence, access, and forward-thinking design. For Gadamsetti, it’s not just about the gear—it’s about the game, and the generations of players still to come.
